The research reveals:
💰 Clash Of Clans has been named as the game making the highest average revenue, at a staggering £866,651,756. Surprisingly this game has the lowest number of players.
🍬 The research revealed that it’s the addictive game Candy Crush, which has the highest number of players at 295,000,000, compared to Clash Of Clans (40,333,333).
📈 In 2020, there was over a 33% increase in people playing online games, which resulted in combined average revenue of £271,181,499.
💸 2020 also saw a 14% rise in the amount of revenue creators were making per player. Most likely due to the pandemic, gamers were spending on average £3.76 on microtransactions.
📈 From 2016 to 2020, Minecraft saw over 90,000,000 new users (227.50%) , whereas Pokemon Go saw a drop of over 65,000,000 users (-28.45%). Candy Crush, whilst the most users, still saw a drop of 9.90% since 2016.
